Our operator responded to the signal in under 5 seconds and the fire brigade dispatched. The Fire Brigade arrived on site just in time to see the curtains in the kitchen catching fire.

The occupant had gone out and left a Tea Towel on the element; this ultimately caught fire and spread to the curtains.

Due to the quick and decisive actions of our Operator the only damage was a wee bit of smoke damage and new curtains required. This highlights not only the value of having smoke detectors hard wired into your alarm panel but the absolute value in having the alarm monitored.
